Fees for Obtaining and Licensing Images
There are three fees associated with imaging services:
- Fee 1: the fee to obtain an image
from our collections (in the format of your choice)
- Fee 2: postage and handling fees
for sending the image to you
- Fee 3: the fee to license the image
-- this fee applies only if you intend to use the image for publication,
display, or other transmittal (for example, using the image in
a book or article, web site, film, broadcast, cd-rom, etc.)
If you plan to license any images, you will also need to complete
the Application for Permission to License
Images (PDF). Images may not be published,
displayed, or transmitted in any way without permission from the
Special Collections Department.
Please note:
- We accept payment by check, money order, or credit card (Visa,
Mastercard, and American Express).
- We cannot accommodate rush orders.

If you need a print of something that isn't already in the photo
collection, then you will need to pay for new photography. The prices
below include the cost of photography as well as the print.

Fee 3. Licensing Images
- Remember, if you plan to license any images, you will also need
to complete the Application
for Permission to License Images (PDF). This application form
may also be obtained from the Special Collections Department.
Images may not be published, displayed,
or transmitted in any way without permission from the Special
Collections Department.
- Publication permission is granted for one-time use; each additional use
requires submission of a new Application for Permission.
